He didn't wrote back. So I turned auto update off deciding to let the game update only when it was in its 'original' location.
Steam should behave exactly the same with a game on your second drive as it will on your main drive, so it's safe to leave auto-update on. Everything will automatically be updated on whichever drive you have the game placed on. Having a game on a second drive is pretty low maintenance.
