So, is the Bioshock play trough happening? Might have a go again, on easy, as I still need the all audio books achievement, and I'd like to refresh my memory a bit again on the story. Think I might have missed quite a bit on the first go.
Yes, I will hopefully have a WiiU by March, like to go trough Super then, never ever completed it. Only got myself a Super Nintendo when I was living in my own, as a student. Had it hooked up to the tv at the end of my bed, think I must have played the start of Super every morning for at least a month. I always had forgotten where I wanted to go.
Played up to Neptune's Bounty tonight with Mrs Reg watching. Game is lovely, but by fuck if it isn't a messy opening 30 minutes. Would have liked a lot more time to let Rapture sink in (punlol). Mrs reg got bored. Steinman still my favourite character outside of Cohen so he was a hoot.
No need to pop security cameras, hacking Etc in at this point when you're still OMG plasmids. And then the difference between a plasmid and a perk WUT it's lucky my brain is so big and I understand it all because I am Andrew Ryan.
Actually started it a couple of nights ago, not prompted by here. Had to restart last night as I somehow missed a tonic in the first section. Wasn't sure which areas I could go back to at the end, so played it safe. Just got up to Neptune's Bounty and have taken down just the one Big Daddy. To make it a bit more interesting, I'm going to try and use the wrench and not much else on Splicers. Hacking is still an annoyance (glad they fixed it in 2).
The one thing that I almost forget due to the excellent storyline is where you are. You're running around this city creating havoc and you stop at a window and realise you're under the water. Why can't a city like Rapture actually exist?
I went through this again very recently, and it was the first time I really prioritised the research camera. Certainly worth it for the perks it gives, but yes it can get a bit cumbersome. Isn't the invisibility effect a product of full researching the houdini guys? Because that's one of the most useful powers in the game.
just got to the sub. im playing on easy because i just want to breeze through the story and atmosphere rather than be hampered by combat.
going through it again is still really good in terms of the story. the man levine and his team have done an excellent job storyfying the problems with the ideology. (e.g peachy's life gutting fish in the capitalist utopia).
playing it again im struggling to see what the point of blowing up the sub is, but maybe ive forgotten something.
also realised why the bot deactivation works (becauase why else would it).
playing by rescuing the little sisters because its totally horrible to do the other even though its a game.
the camera is interesting, dunno how much times ill use it, mapping to the weapon slots seems a bad choice to me. kind of missing not being able to dual wield pistol and plasmid (cant think of a good reason why it isnt).
Arrived at the sub after a good few hours of exploration punctuated by brief but brutal (and slightly cumbersome) combat, and yeah Rapture continues to fascinate beyond any reasonable amount.
I'm also rescuing the little sisters, done this three times now and I haven't harvested one yet, couldn't bring myself to play it any other way.
