That's a good point, it potentially offers much in the way of micromanagement currently unachievable on console. Â Syndicate reboot anyone? Â The good one I mean.Raiziel wrote:I'm was highly sceptical of the Wii U when it was first announced too. I certainly didn't see the point of a screen on the controller. But how about this: the Wii U will be the perfect home for just about any MMO because all the additional buttons/options could be mapped to the controller screen. The ability to play something like WoW or The Old Republic from the comfort of your couch could be a huge draw for some. The more I think about it, the less gimmicky the Wii U sounds, and I think it could be a huge oversight on the part of Sony and Microsoft not to include some form of screen, however small, in their controllers for their next gen offerings.

A screen has a few problems as an addition at the moment. It obviously adds cost, but it's also a field that's constantly being improved these days because of the smartphone market. The Wii-U screen already looks dated, imagine what sort of impression it will give off in a few years time.ÂRaiziel wrote:The more I think about it, the less gimmicky the Wii U sounds, and I think it could be a huge oversight on the part of Sony and Microsoft not to include some form of screen, however small, in their controllers for their next gen offerings.
