I did consider Advance Wars DS.  Hammered that, not picked up the DS in yonkers.

To this day, I still haven't finished the last level. I just don't have the strategy intelligence brains.

Windwaker will always be my favourite Zelda, although I appreciate it probably isn't "the best". I agree 100%. The cel-shading led to accusations that it was child-like but actually it really allows the strength of the art style to shine through. It's far more memorable than Twilight Princess for instance, which ended up just looking rather dull.

I had a girlfriend once who was addicted to Animal Crossing - I could never quite see the appeal of the nonsense those characters would spout. No other girlfriend has been into games, although my current partner expressed some surprise at the inventiveness of Killer7's art style.

I really need to work on my list - Onimusha 2, wtf!? I need to get Civ 2 in there for sure.

Oh and Far Cry 2 for daring to piss players off mid gun-fight with maleria/gun jamming etc. But mostly for the stories - the Far Cry thread was brilliant back in the day.

That's because films work completely differently. STOP THE COMPARISON!! Sequels in films are almost always inferior mainly because they lose the original's scene setting and character development, element of surprise and suspense etc. By the sequel, you know a lot of what to expect.
