It was the first one that I played through to completion, and I loved the bigger focus on side quest stuff, like the camera and travelling salesman shit. Also the art style and tone is by far the most interesting, and was great to see at a time when everyone else was hunting for gritty realism. Was probably the first time I actually felt like I was playing something that looked as good as a cartoon.mk64 wrote:the windwaker love suprises me most so far in this thread.

OOPS! Â Sorry. Â Meant to fix that. Â Hang on...hylian_elf wrote:EDIT: you've got my proper list, but am still being called in 'Nintard mode'.
Do subsequent Zelda titles count as sequels? Â If so, definitely not. Â There are also franchises where the game totally changes, like Burnout (I prefer the original but most prefer the sequels) or games that saw significant honing in the first few titles, like Tekken. Â I think it would be daft to have Tekken in your list over Tekken 3.dynamiteReady wrote:Would it be impossible to compile an agreeable top 10, without sequels?

I know, but I reckon if we were to run a film/video version of this thread, we'd see a smaller proportion of sequels in each compilation...

Never. :}
Until there's another complete overhaul in technology (like the Outrun -> Virtua Racing one I cited), I believe that there are too many technical parallels between films and games to discount. But I know we can't discuss them here...
