Now eating/drinking
  • I can't drink before 7pm unless I'm outside, it's sunny and I've just finished a long bike ride in the woods and there is very cold lager to hand.
"Our music's strong enough to stop a bomb...putting pressure on you kids like I'm a soccer mom"
  • That sounds amaze. I really need to find the time for more sleep/exercise/food/work/family. I used to bike around a little bit but found it hard to make it a habit.

Right now I'm actually working on a menu thing for a weight management clinic and it's making me really, really hungry. That, and I've only had coffee for breakfast...

No DD for you tonight, Nick!
  • Man, when you're knackered, covered in dried sweat and dust and you collapse into a chair outside in the sun and take those first few gulps of freezing lager.....OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH few things can top that. Great head buzz too, really crisp and clear.

    @Coopers - :( I know.

But I have a secret plan..

150 people on facebook said they were going to this thing, it's at the Fitzroy Tavern (Sam Smith's pub) and in the evening that place is a crowded hellhole anyway. So my plan is, turn up for a jar, give birthday hug, sneak into Casino round the corner for a cuple of games of SF on the cabinets - then run home for a curry and to play DD.

  • Had to google it – that's the one on Charlotte St? Looks like my kind of cosy pub!

@turts Stop. I miss exercise but it's TOO HARD right now! Was actually contemplating yoga there, but I'd probably end up looking like Dhalsim.
  • Tonight I am cooking a meal for me and the wife as we're always both so busy with our jobs, we don't usually get any "sit down, chat and eat" time.

So I am going to do slow cooked Moroccan chicken with pan fried cubed potatoes & cous cous. For dessert I'll be making chocolate brownie accompanied by a spoonful of vanilla ice cream and melted chocolate sauce.

  • Nice.

I'll be ordering pizza and drinking wine. Pizza friday is our traditional thing now – our one day of being lazy with food.
  • Had gorgonzola, cherries and toast. Very nice, but at 8 quid I thought it wouldn't just be literally that arranged on a plate.

Gonna need some serious sustinance before heading to the Fitzroy. That is indeed the one Cooper's.
  • 8 quid for that?! Steep!

Roast duck salad, here I come...

Nachos, half a BBQ roast chicken, fries, coleslaw and 2 pints of Hoegaarden. I love impromptu days off work. Think I'll have an ice cream.
  • That's a proper eat. All home done?
  • Spelt spaghetti, olive oil, sun-dried tomato pesto, diced roast chicken, olives, basil leaves, black pepper.
"Our music's strong enough to stop a bomb...putting pressure on you kids like I'm a soccer mom"
  • Everything but the olives.

Are you a Pizza Hut, Dominos or 'Other' kind of guy?
  • Duck Salad was win. Spicy prawn crackers are good.

Now I really, really want a beer. Thanks for that Mod. NOT HELPING.
  • @Plan M
Usually we buy decent M&S ones and upgrade them at home, but tonight's gonna be Domino's because I'm feel like eating filth.

Nice mate. We usually do the same (buy a pizza and add stuff to them).

I love the Chicago Town Takeout Pizzas with stuffed crusts. They're incredible.

Domino's is too far on the filth scale for me and I aint exactly Turts.

Worst I will go with pizza is Papa Johns. My mate the other day had a pizza with donar meat stuffed crust, thing looked fucking grim.
  • *shudders*

My mate used to get a bap from Morleys in Brixton which had a wrong looking frank curled inside and a fried egg on top. These two dishes would go well together I feel.

Imagine if they served something like that to the judges on Great British Menu - "There you go m8, 'ave a go on that"

Nah, out in town. Double scoop waffle ice cream cone didn't touch the sides, 1 scoop Vimto flavour, 1 scoop lemon sherbet.

    Amazing.

There seems to be some kind of attitude in fast food that more crap meat equates to tasty food.
One of the big reasons I don't like dominos is over half the toppings seem to be different processed meats, that all taste of chemical spices but with varying shapes. The worst being the "meatballs" and I use "s for a reason, they are some how chewy on the outside then soft in the middle, like a marshmallow with too much air.

Fuck any reasoning for healthy lifestyles, I just wouldn't put this shit in my mouth because it tastes like a mouldy cunt.

Pizza dough is simple to make and tastes about a billion times better than anything you could buy in a supermarket.

Pizza dough is a piece of piss to make, especially if you have a bread maker.

The problem I have is I've no idea how to make them round so end up making square pizzas like you get in a school canteen.

Could buy a rolling pin I guess.

I cheat and use bolognese sauce for the tomato bit but adding your own toppings is super satisfying and much tastier than fresh or frozen store/take away ones.

Main problem I have is finding a pepperoni that doesn't spill fat everywhere when cooked.

That's because pepperoni is full of fat
