Played this while I was off running the Nixon administration. Interested in what you lot thought of the DLC. Is it worth it? My original impression from my rental of the game was that I was royally shafted, but it's like a shmup, it's designed for replay. One of the fellas on my FL who I was chatting to about it spent about 45 hours on it and got the S Rank on the hardest difficulty achievement. I'd say that would be easy enough since it's all patterny as fuck and the bosses are pussies, so I fancy buying it for a stab at that and the DLC. Also, on paper I should hate the soundtrack, but I don't, it's great.

Hylian's opinion was that it's a bit pricey for what you get.
Apart from a few sections of the game, I can't see a Revengeance all S rank playthrough being that taxing on mere mortals. You can actually use Wig items you get through previous playthroughs that give you things like infinite blade mode and subweapon ammo for no penalty getting the trophy. Armour Breaker is also pretty handy as you can blade mode most armoured enemies after a couple of hits with it.
Despite me getting the pre-order bonus, i've still not tried the Fox Blade. Apparently it turns the game into a piece of pish.
I absolutely love the game, played it three times in a row, cleaning up achievements/trophies, and just enjoying slicing things up in style. Not tried S ranking on Revengeance mode yet, I'm just not that good at it anyway.
Avoid the DLC I reckon unless it goes on sale for cheap. Sam isn't that much different or exciting to play as, and it's mostly reused assets, ie no new levels or environments. I haven't bothere with wolf DLC.
VR missions are great, though, if you like testing your skills!
I completed this Wednesday, got it on PS+ which was a good thing because at only 5hrs long I would have definitely been dissapointed spending cash money on it.
Overall I think its a decent game, when the combat is flowing its great fun but THAT CAMERA. Its quite possibly the worst camera I've ever experienced in a game, just awful.
Only 7 levels; one of which is going backwards through part of an earlier one, one level thats just a boss battle, some that don't even have bosses, yeah I was dissapointed.
But... it is Metal Gear, bat shit story present, great soundtrack, interesting combat.
Yeah I get what your saying but to complete the main story its 5 hours. There's tons of games you could reply on higher difficulty settings to lengthen the experience but for me this isn't fun enough to warrant playing again.
Thats what Platinum seem to be about and unfortunately none of their games have made be want to play past the credits.
The DLC is gash. In the sense that it just reuses assets, doesn't introduce much new or add anything. Nothing like, for example, the Dishonored DLC with its massive new areas and story and the trials and stuff.
Bargain, I got the collectors edition with the figure for Christmas, have had a chance to play it yet gotta finish GTA first. The figure is awesome though.
