First proper issue for me. My biggest Edge regret is not paying £20 or whatever it was they wanted for those postcards. Or not threatening to cancel my subscription in an attempt to get the dangling carrot. People who have subscribed for over a year should get that shit, not new customers who plan to cancel their sub when the gift arrives. Hmmpfff.

Only started picking up Fudge on the regular when the Dreamcast happened. Prior, I didn't really give a shit about consoleware beyond whatever I could emulate on me 'puter at the time. And you didn't need mags to keep up with online FPSing, which is the only other videogame thing I was putting any serious time into.
Cannot imagine a circumstance in which I'd need to be buying anything printed again. The mag itself was already courting irrelevance by the time the old forum kicked off, frankly. -

Send messageAgree with a lot of what is being said here; I've found myself reading less and less of the magazine month after month really.
Their PS4 supper love-in has really narked me too. Edge even popped into Fan-Boy territory with that "you must buy a PS4" cover.
Still, I do get excited when I arrive back from work to find a issue lying on the doormat. I'd find that feeling difficult to replicate with the ipad version! -
It was a superb magazine for 10-15 years. Can't praise it highly enough for its approach to games writing in that period. But the times change and it's not something that needs to keep going. No sense of failure if it retires quietly now, and it should be remembered for what it contributed to that particular period in the history of games journalism.

This was my first issue....
I then went via their back issues to get E1. I still have every issue, including most of the specials.
I only started subscribing a couple of years ago (got the postcards - sorry Moot!
