My greatest contribution to that is the Alpetey. Actually, it's probably my greatest achievement in life thus far.
  • Mine is easily the most awesome row as a percentage. It's only me and one other guy. Even if he's a tool it's still 50% awesome.
    "..the pseudo-Left new style.."
  • What percentage of those are still here?
  • My row has 'Haak, Lester, Rock, Yoss, Jon, and ME. And some others who I'm not sure about.
  • I'm guessing elms is the one in the fighter plane hat.
    "..the pseudo-Left new style.."
  • I like the way my face is next to the print, who's that monochrome chap in the bottom right?

It's me. Who wants to know?

  • Gutted I didn't ask to be on the mug thing.  Would've used a comical Bramble pic.
  • Erm sorry.
The pic of 'me' is Tim Roth, because I have been likened to him when I was skinny.
I was skinny on this forum once.

Also nobody looks anything like how I imagined them, which is disappointing.
Masturbation night is now well and truly ruined.

  • We need some more white dudes between the ages of 25 & 35 on that pic. Then it would be straight dope.

It makes for an intriguing fighting game select screen. Makes Fighters Megamix look positively pedestrian.
Holding the wrong end of the stick since 2009.
  • Super Edge Bros.
  • I'd forgotten all about that pic :)

I subscribed for a few years but I was reading less and less every issue. I flipping loved Edge back in the day though.
  • My first Edge was the PSP Wipeout one, it had a fancy cover with pink bits.

Two along from you (Kow?) looks like his face is about to explode, and G.Man looks like Clarence Boddicker from Robocop.  But yeah, you'd still probably win by default.

We all talked it through, we weren't going to put yours on anyway.

Do you have any photo software?

  • My first Edge was this one ...

... and discovering such a cleanly designed, intelligently written videogames magazine was a gosh darned revelation (then they redesigned it a few issues later).
  • I could do with some Outrun. I must've bought that game so many times on different machines and I'll do it again too.

I can't remember my first but I remember apple and Atari logos quite early on.

Finding an Outrun 2 cabinet in old arcades and roadside stops is the sweetest thing.

    I remember that one.

  • First Edge was issue 1, didn't like their disregard for all things Megadrive (Gunstar Heroes a 6, righty-ho), so apart from one that had Sonic 3 screenshots in I didn't buy another issue until the Saturn was on the way out (Steep Slope Sliders review, perhaps).  I subscribed from '98 until mid 2013, after planning to knock it around the time the forum was dropped but taking my sweet time.  A decade of goodness was a mighty fine run.

Joined the forum in 2009ish as CyberRazorCut, started an 'Underrated GBA games' thread, got loads of good advice and wasn't shouted at, then realised there was already a cyber-razor-cut on the members list so started posting as Moot_Geeza in 2010 iirc.  My final online/offline tally was five or six, a return I was happy with considering minutes on the pitch.
  • That's a shame. Now I'll have to find another way to read their reviews that doesn't cost me money.

Oh yeah, mugs and issues and stuff. Etc. I think my first issue was one of Skerret's.

Be quick if you wanna find yours.

I bought it because I wanted to see what jobs were on offer at the back. Got all riled up. Had the crazy idea I wanted to work in games. I was on PC Gamer's forum at the time.

I read one of the early issues when I was a teenager, but it was all wordy bollocks and no MAXIMUM. As an older person, I really enjoyed it up until its 2004 redesign.
