Oh my god you guys, I ate THE BEST FOOD all day today. I wish I'd got pictures but my phone camera is shocking so I couldn't.
For lunch we went to Pieminister in Manchester's Northern Quarter and I had wild mushroom and asparagus pie, I wish I'd tried some of the sides too because they looked amazing but it was only supposed to be a light lunch, although the pies were pretty hefty and filling actually. Good for a cold northern day like today though.
We were in town for a gig at Gorilla so ended up going down early and had dinner there too. I went for sweet potato and spinach wrap with spiced carrot chutney and hummus. It came impaled on a skewer and served on a wooden board. Holy shit you guys it was goooood. Worth the ridiculous 30 minute wait to snaffle one of the few tables.
Food in Manchester I tend to find overpriced and substandard but this stuff was both good value and amazingly tasty. Already planning my next trip out.
Going to go to bed where I think I might actually die of carb overload. Totally worth it though, make sure you put that on my gravestone.
Last night my dinner was a haddock fillet baked in the oven with chopped tomatoes and grated blue Stilton, and a wee bit of penne with the merest drizzle of light French dressing.
Have 2 bread doughs nearing bake time. One seedy one, one olive. Will post results. I think they're gonna be good ones, I wrapped the bowls in a towel and put them near the radiator so they've really risen quite considerably compared to my last.
Tip onto shiny non-porous surface dusted with flour, then dust flour on top, fold and shape. My olive one turned out very well. Might try a brown seeing as that seed loaf looks so good.
Be a man and get a spicy donner breakfast from your nearest and dirtiest kebab emporium. If they're not yet open sledgehammer your way in and make one yourself.
Don't forget to casually say "Morning" when they turn up.
Not drunk enough, but I have tried to buy breakfast in Macdonald's in Brixton while on acid which I'd taken by accident once. It didn't taste like food, but that wasn't the acid's fault.
