I know, it was outsourced to Bluepoint; but Respawn not being numpties, they know there's a huge install base of 360s out there and want to sell as many copies as possible, hence I'd have to presume they'd have a fair hand in choosing the outsourcer and have a very vested interest in making sure the xbox360 version is up to scratch. Course, all depends on how much of a hand in it EA allowed them to have - and given Respawn seemed a little surprised/miffed at the exclusivity when it was announced (with the implication being that it was EA's choice rather than theirs) - then maybe Respawn didn't manage to write a huge amount of control into the contract (beyond the "keeping IP" concession).Gonzo wrote:Except respawn aren't devs for 360. It's like gman said, either it's identical, or it's borked. I think the Bono will get preferential treatment on the server side. It is a flagship programme. Also, there is something about the first big mp on a new platform. That's what i'd be paying 400 quid for, that experience. Experiences over products, every time.

I'd like to think I can now hold out for a pre Christmas price drop on the Bone, or at least more good games to be available for both machines.

Gonzo wrote:I think people who were around in the early days of live who, like me, tried warhawk and mag, were able to compare properly. Dave's too blinkered to compare rationally. That said, the early days of live were soon gone, replaced by parties, so it's academic, except that even then the 360 scene was mildly better than ps3. Mag was pretty telling, little coms, no real tactics. It couldn't even compare to halo 2 in the early days of 360, with nmd, face and so on barking strategies, orders, call outs. Partly was the game, which was too big. Overall, i'd say seasoned 360 mp shooter fans are much better online play communicatorsRedDave2 wrote:I was around for all those dave - just didnt find the community love was quute the same. Too many silent games compared to what was on offer on live. Its not to say that the ps3 hasnt given me excellemt online gaming but the atmosphere never wws as good. For me anyway.

Yeah, this thread is not for people who cave in - as soon as that happens you can fuck off to the appropriate next-gen console thread. We don't want your kind around here.Hodge360 wrote:I thought this thread was gonna be some sort of support group for people who don't need the next gen.
