Stallone himself actually mentioned his plans for a Rocky TV series recently. Rocky at the age of around 17, getting into boxing and the origins of him becoming an enforcer for the local criminal outfit. Could be good.LivDiv wrote:They also have The Hobbit but I dont know what level of rights they own. Rocky/Creed. I wouldnt put it past a streaming service to do a Rocky series.

I was going to say that in a parallel universe Snyder is probably an amazing second unit director, and then I realised that the bits of the film that made me think that were probably actually directed by his Second Unit Director, and not him at all.
The most convincing relationships in the film are between a man and a safe, and a woman and a helicopter - so unconvincing are the human interactions. (It says a lot that they were able to film the entirety of Tig Notaro's part on green screen without the rest of the cast, and be confident that she wouldn't seem any less engaged with the rest of the characters than anyone else.)
Still, I think I'm alone in not even liking the opening credits that much. Yes, they were efficient at setting up the back story, but even that went on too long - even going so far as to use a really shitty cover of Viva Las Vegas. (They have Elvis songs elsewhere in the movie, so they can obviously afford them - just use Elvis you idiots.) In fact that cover probably doubles as a review for the film itself. The core idea is fun, and in theory it hits the rights beats, but in reality it's a joyless, drawn out slog riding the coattails of better things that came before.
I think I'd rather cut a little out of each scene until it created better pacing. Although really it's probably less an editing job and more a need for tighter writing and plotting throughout in the first place.Bob wrote:Essentially cut the first half hour of the front and your laughing.. Before the movie landed on the streaming service, Snyder addressed the purpose of the robots during a Q&A for Netflix's press notes (via Comicbook). Synder said that the backstory of the zombie robots would be explained in an upcoming TV series.
