Aye, it seems that not predicting the rise of consoles was the death of the Bitmaps. They were ahead of the curve, developing for Amiga first but on a cross-platform compiler for instant ST ports … but by continuing to focus on the Amiga and then the CD32, they got steamrollered by Sega and Nintendo. The decision had been made on cost – indie publishers couldn’t pony up the cash required for physical cart production agreements. Bit of a common story across the industry at the time, and the main reason all those old school UK game devs died out.Yossarian wrote:Fair play.

Lower res, less colours, fuzzier sound, etc. I’ve just been reading the Bitmap Brothers Universe book and it seems their graphics guy especially hated the compromises he had to make for the Sega ports.Yossarian wrote:What's better about the Amiga version of Speedball 2 than the MD version?
