Not sure about the Northern Crater, I was getting bored of spamming Knights of the Round every battle, my own fault I know. I preferred the first visit to the crater when the Weapons wake up.

I loved the entire opening sequence, from jumping off the train to the manic, last ditch escape then there's the beauty of the pace suddenly slowing while you head back to HQ and spend a single Gil buying a flower on the way.
