Fwiw I think the new one plays great, but it's got seasons and gaas up the wazoo, which is a big turn off for me

I just came to post that. I think a lot of people aren't interested in that side of the game. On the other hand, there'll be plenty who haven't killed the AI bosses but have loads of player kills

Agree with this one. Any kind of city/world builder, I don't find enjoyable or have the time for anymore. I don't really want to spend effort building things anymore, it's nicer to experience a world that someone else has gone to the trouble of creating.
