I genuinely think my sons U16 team would have give Qatar a high scoring game last night. They may not have beaten them but it would have been a more entertaining and evenly matched opening WC than that. The players didn’t seem to understand how to position their bodies to receive the ball, proper basic shit. Awful stuff.

But yeah, the "what if he gets booked?" angle doesn't swing with me. Surely a protest is only worth it if you're willing to suffer consequences? Boycotting something you were never going to buy or do is easy, and standing up for something when you are insulated from any pushback is just grandstanding. True support comes when you will personally suffer to do what is right. Otherwise it's actually "virtue signalling" (eugh).
He needs to take the yellow, or even the red, no matter what.
