I couldn't get my head around the lock on not keeping me facing the direction of my enemy at first, but I'll get used to it. it's not Dark Souls, but it does look like a good alternative.Brooks wrote:Yeah. Played Dragon's Dogma for two hours tonight. Not even scratched the surface but the game has a cracking atmosphere. Enjoyed the combat - even though I only faced goblins and hunted rabbits. The music is awesome. OST please.

 I'm six hours in and loving it. Met a player Pawn on the road called Dawn. She was low level like me, but I recruited her on the spot. She could shoot lightning fom her fingertips. After the mission, I sent her on her way with a fish in her pocket. Her owner will be delighted... -
I've just been hopping across rooftops pinching people's stuff from their houses and selling it. I should really go and look for those flowers instead.

It just occurred to me that I'd be 100% more likely to play this if it looked like FF12, which is a bit miserable. -
It all seems a bit odd to me. Essentially riffing on Monster Hunter, but in a Western friendly way, when it seems evident that a 360/PS3 MH would sell like hot balls.
I have it sat on a lovefilm list for a dabble. -

God, i heard it was hard but sheesh.
On the one of the first missions, find lady and then escort cart, ive been on less than half life as you have to consume items or the mage cant fully heal you. And i went up one hill, about 3 yards off the path and was fighting these bandits that took 15 minutes each to kill and killed my pawns in one hit. Then i was getting obliterated on the cart escort, it turned to night, end is inches away, and zombies sprout from the bloody ground. Im finding this harder than a souls game. I think ive at least got that bloody cart to the end now. -
Anyone got a fighter pawn I can lend?

@cosmicjellybean Go to the rift stone and add at least one higher level Pawn to your team. I made my way through that section without any problem with a party of four. I think I was lvl 10.

Send messageBloody hell. After Witcher 2 and Max Payne 3 (which are arguably the best looking games on 360), this is ropey as fuck! Doesn't make any sense cause MT Framework is an awesome engine.Â
Just restarted cause i got bored of the Warrior class after 20 mins (excl. tutorial), which doesn't bode well. I cannot play a game like this and not be able to roll/evade. Strider it is then. -
Aye it could do with a roll. Loving my Strider though. Just got to a huge town, it's roof clambering time again.

It's definitely not as hard as Dark Souls - at least in the opening seven hours. It's all about tailoring your skills and choosing Pawns to compliment your playstyle. I have a mage, a sorcerer and a warrior. I hang back raining arrows down on the foes, my tank goes toe-to-toe, while my magic users unleash merry hell from a safe distance. They also buff my weapons depending on the situation. One of the Pawns I picked up has knowledge of how to defeat certain enemies and he's proving to be a big help out on the open road. I'm not that far in, but my experience so far has been enjoyable.

Nah, I did that cart escort at level 8, with the level 6 pawn you start off with and a level 5 fighter and it was a piece of piss. I haven't even come close to dying. Mind you, I am affraid of the dark.
Is the search pawn working for any of you? It never brings up any friends pawns even though I have a couple of you on my list.
For top lols, leave the controller alone for a few seconds and see what happens. -

It does have a roll, that's why i changed class - its an unlockable for the Strider. -
Not come across it yet, level 13. Are you sure it's a Strider unlock and not a Ranger or something else?

I'm in a group with two of my friends' Pawns and I managed to find them OK - although everything just got a lot tougher. I'm in corridor with a hulking great ogre, who can kill me in one hit...

Sparky down! Cut in half by a poxy bandit north of the huge city.Â
I probably wasn't helped by the fact that I changed mine and my pawn's vocation at the same time, but couldn't afford a new weapon for both of us so she's going bare handed at the minute. Hardly any skills cross over too, despite the fact that I concentrated on the archery ones and became a Ranger, who specialise in archery. Odd.
Anyway it's been very enjoyable so far.
