Ok so now I need to start sorting out a portfolio, need to find a mod/indie project to approach and try and do sound design for. Bit baffled as to where and what to look for exactly. Any ideas would be really helpful.
also scour kickstarter for projects that look likely to get funding and that don't already have an audio person.
I would highly recommend doing some trailer re-spotting first to A. develop your skills and ensure that you are confident in your abilities, and B. have a showreel to send to a team when you 'apply' (making it clear that you stripped the old audio and replaced it).
Did anyone else see the iron man 2 as that was just video and sound effects? It was the bit where loads of robots were flying around and blowing shit up. I almost wet myself. That but in the actual film was not as interesting.
