The wholesale butchers we go to occasionally has approx 1 ft tall cans of corned beef, still with a key. One of these days I'll buy the fucker, then immediately regret it, possibly after losing an arm trying to open it.
I'm not that into food, it's just shit waiting to happen after all, but I liked the look of this starter so much I thought I'd share it with you all. Scallops, feta, tomato and basil. It was lovely but I fancy a bit of chilli in there next time. The seashell dishes were from an M&S meal deal thing.
Yeah the scallops were lush. I wasn't keen on the feta but Danielle is a bit of a saganaki fiend so it went in. Almost overpowered everything with the saltiness of the cheese, which is why I want to try a bit of chilli next time. Then again it's rare I'd do anything with tomato without adding chilli so maybe it's just me, she loved it.
A way to get that dish perfect to your tastes, which sound like mine, is to replace the feta with cooked tiny crunchy cubes of quality chorizo. You'll get saltiness and a little kick of chilli which is exactly what that stupid rich scall needs. Feta could be awesome in a side salad for it. Also a quick shout out to rich tomato sauces with white fish, the other day I cooked down some onions and garlic, then mixed in half a can of tomatos in sauce with a few minced, rehydrated chile ancho. On top of a butter panfried cod fillet it was phenomenal.

The big guns are the yellow pepper at the front and the open jar of homemade at the front. Heavy on ginger and scotch bonnet, goes surprisingly well and mildly painfully, with cheese.
