Still, variable weather meant we couldn't tell an awful lot ....although it did seem That Mclaren where still slow, hass where slow and Mercedes are still the fastest.
I think the quali format could work if:
Refueling wasn't allowed during a session
Only one set of tires allowed per session
There was a special Quali tire that took a few laps to come to life and remained in their prime for about 15 laps.
That way it would be beneficial to stay out and do repeated laps, as the longer the session went on, the quicker the lap times would get.
That would work Goober. My concerns relate to a crash mid qualifying that red flags the session and doesnt give the bloke currently in the drop position to put a time in.
What a fucking race! Excitement all over the field, split strategies on three different tires, big accidents and safety cars closing the pack, 2016 is on!
Sky getting sole rights to F1 from 2019. Terrible news for the British punter. I know Bob rates it but I find the coverage (whilst admitedly exhaustive,) incredibly tedious, (continual hard sell of the sport smacks of desparation) and Brundle excluded find Herbert, Kravitz and Davidson to be a bit amateur hour and personality-less.
So, F1’s dying slowly. Question is, will anyone bring us a replacement? Formula E is shit, so far. WEC is bloody brilliant at the moment, but who has the stamina to watch (or broadcast) 6, 12 and 24 hour races live? Maybe it’s time for WRC or touring cars to make a mainstream comeback.
