1.  Misery - Bates, Caan and the sledgehammer make it a fun time despite much being familiar from pop culture osmosis.  [7]

2.  Summer Stock - A "putting on a show" plot with Judy and Gene flaunting their talents, topping it off with the irresistible Judy Where's Your Troosers Get Happy.  [8]

3.  Hannie Caulder - Raquel Welch/Christopher Lee rape-revenge Western.  Simple, not entirely satisfying but does the job.  [6]

4.  The Entertainer -  Felt quite breezy until the tragic inevitability hit me towards the end.  [7]

5.  Mid90s -  Pretty sure I've been that kid.  Liked the angle it took.  Less exploitative nostalgia than the title suggests.  [6]

6.  The Sound of Music - Julie's marvelous, the views are astonishingly crisp and the Do Re Mi sequence is a soaring triumph.  The nuns' songs jarred a little.  [9]

7.  Sabrina (1954) - Drew enough laughs without ever really sizzling.  Audrey and Bogey aren't exactly hard to watch.  [7]

8.  South Pacific - Outside of Happy Talk I found it quite lacking.  Cool it on the colour filters, guys.  [4]

9.  Babes In Arms - Mickey and Judy's magic carries it, helped by Good Morning, but yes that is a full on thigh-slapping minstrel show.  Luckily, I could watch Judy watching paint dry and am probably a massive racist.  It's not a fair comparison but it's bonkers that it was shot back to back with Oz as it feels like it's from a completely different era.  [6]

10.  Paint Your Wagon - I was enjoying this at first: Clint does his best with the songs, Jean Seberg's polygamy is quite fun and it strikes a welcoming tone which isn't too silly.  Then it just kept going, overstaying its welcome by at least half an hour.  I may have dozed off at one point.  [4]

11.  Scrooge (1970) - Had to applaud "Life is full of cretinous wretches, earning what their sweatiness fetches", I believe the correct term is "bars".  Thank You Very Much is a real catchy number, too.  Finney and Guinness go a bit too panto and there aren't nearly enough Muppets in it.  [7]

12.  1917 - Some enjoyable segments but the whole was unexpectedly lightweight.  The single shot is a self-defeating exercise.  [5]

13.  Bend of the River - It's a Western with Jimmy Stewart trying to prove that men can change.  It's decent.  [5]

14.  The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Didn't get on too well with this.  A thin excuse for a song and dance is fine but here I didn't like the songs or dancing and found little to enjoy outside of Curry's performance.  [3]
