Yep, as mentioned in a few of the posts I've been catching up on the early phase tedium is real. I'm pretty sure I'll persevere, but it would've been nice to start at phase 3 after a while - maybe after reaching that section twice in a row without dying.
5th boss done, took around 90 minutes. This game, ooft. I don't think its short game is as strong as its long one, either that or I particularly suck at the up close bits, but on the whole - other than the tedium of the full restarts - I've not really got any complaints. 5th boss took me ages, but it's still a great boss, probably my favourite so far, he just took a long tome to learn. Great game, but exhausting.
Did him on the second attempt this evening. Easiest boss since the first, considering I was still learning the ropes on the second, but based on some posts in here I'm not ready to tackle the 7th tonight. Getting there though, the audio cue for parry is the handiest tip in the thread imo.
Waarwwwrgh the final form of the 7th boss. So tense. The final final part was a touch easier, and I was able to get my health back up by playing the waiting game, but the bit before that where she chucks everything at you, damn. Progressing far more quickly now though, 40 mins on that one maybe. Third boss is still the closest I've been to giving up.
The third boss was a sticking point for me too. And then that final part of the 7th. Almost gave up after failing on that a few times and having to start again.
Either the difficulty has nosedived or I've gitten gud. Got a speedrunner achievement for the 8th, massive step down in difficulty from the 7th, everything but his final phase was weak sauce.
Invisibility mode is pretty interesting, you can decide for yourself how you want to make it easier it seems. Lower enemy health, skip a certain phase, skip the whole boss.
I haven't really given this any time after I bought it, but will need to look into it again at some point. Didn't really connect with the controls in the one session I had, so being able to move some sliders around to make it easier if it still doesn't click is a nice option.
I don't tend to go for console upgrades unless they break (GBA excluded, and later a 360 for HDMI), but a portable only Switch with better sticks would definitely tempt me.
They're great considering the functionality and versatility, but when it comes to deep concentration/total control games like Celeste, The End is Nigh and Furi it's hard to work through them without blaming your tools now and then.
It's the lack of d-pad I can't get used to. It's essential for a lot of 2D games for me, and with Switch becoming such an indie beast it's a glaring absence.
yeah i was tempted to get the left con with the d-pad, but i think it doesn't work with all games O_O
for me it's mostly the shoulder bumpers, i keep resting on right bumper without realising it. combination of size and positioning i guess. not a fan of the analogues either, but mostly because my left one has an annoying click since day 1.
maybe it's just when you use half a con. you wouldn't be able to press two buttons at the same time for example. i dunno should do some research i guess!
