First thing for a while - Short story I sold in December is now live.
I originally posted it for feedback on the forum, I think. It is an allegorical polemic on slavery and a sociological discussion of industrialisation and assembly lines and is likely to alter the minds and opinions of a generation, forever changing the yoof of today and improving the world hence forth.
Or it's about sea hags and sirens and is pure pulp fiction with magic and monsters and glorious fantasy.
Cheers, guys. Only very small markets really. Need to A) Keep submitting the the top markets rather than getting fed up after a few rejections and dropping down to a tier that is more likely to take my stuff or B ) Write gooder.
Scout - Was the same place as my previous sale.
My main upset currently is my owl story won't sell. It's been rejected by almost every top tier market now. It got to the 2nd round at Clarkesworld, but no traction at all anywhere else. It's so frustrating.
The sitcom pilot I wrote goes live today. You can watch it here if you fancy a gander. If it's not too much trouble you could also hit the 'love' button on the iplayer (even if you hate it).

Absolutely brilliant stuff, Scout. Well done. I'll try and get around to watching it this weekend and give it a thumbs up whether I like it or not, haha!
I pressed the loved button in both places. Do you watch much other comedy for comparison? I've been watching a fair amount recently; fleabag/chewing gum/home from home/our ex wife/coopers versus the rest.
I don't watch as much as I should, British wise anyway. Everyone's talking about Fleabag so I really need to give that a look. It's been a long, often difficult ride, getting this pilot out, and often I don't feel like watching other comedy.
After a few near misses with some really great publications I've slipped into something of a writing malaise and haven't written or submitted for a long time. Most of the markets I'd submit to are shut at the moment too so... yeah. Also, my One Good Success was, like, 18 months ago now. Bleugh.
Anyway, that one success - my story 'The Mothgate' - is now available in hard copy alongside far more talented writers than myself, including award winners like Lavie Tidhar and some NYT best selling authors. So that's something. I'll link when the publisher actually announces it proper.
