Most improved is a hard one given that most game sequels do improve upon their predecessors. Quite unlike, say, movies. Just the nature of the medium, I guess.I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER. -
Prototype 2 was a huge improvement over the first game. Had they released that first, they probably would have had a decent franchise to milk.

Game 2 is quite often better, because the studio has a hit under their belt and so a better budget. Also they have just got better at doing things, and there are assets to re-use so things can be done quicker and cheaper.
That said, I will shoot up Naughty Dog if I see more of Ellie and Joel. -

Alien(s) and Terminator(2) are similar in that way. Sci Fi horror/thriller sequeled by Sci Fi Action.
In both cases the first films are better on paper but it depends what mood I'm in to which I would watch. Both had absolute turd 3rd films and 4% better 4th films. -
