This is the vaguest, worst description ever, but in 2008-09 there was a guy posting videos on youtube of really heavily drumming over pop songs and ramping them to next level. Im aware theres hundreds now.
I cannot remember the song, I keep thinking Rihanna's Umbrella but I'm not sure it's that, but I used to listen to him do that song all the time.
My old memory isn't what it used to be, but I'd swear I had no idea that the Blondie classic was actually a cover of this original version that YouTube has just randomly suggested to me.

I also prefer the energy in The Leaves recording of "Hey Joe" over Jimi's, but even then that's a cover of Billy Roberts (who seems like maybe got it from somewhere else) and his acoustic version is a bit boring.
