The first time, I had my prices set so that I never had excess stock; paperclips were sold as soon as they were produced. It was annoying, because I didn’t know about the need to reach 70,000 ops to progress, so I had to leave the game running for hours and hours to get enough Trust to reach the target. When I did, and the game moved to its second phase, I had no excess paperclips lying around, so I couldn’t do anything.

So, I started again. I knew about the 70,000 ops requirement and the need to stockpile unsold paperclips. In the end, as I moved to the second phase, I had over three billion unsold paperclips. In fact, here’s my screen just before I bought and released the hypnodrones:



As an aside, look how much the auto- and mega-clippers cost when you have so many of them!

Things were going well in the second phase, but having built ten factories, I unlocked an upgrade to double factory output. Except, it required 80,000 ops. I had a Xavier reconfigure thing to reassign my Trust, and set up 80 memory to get the 80,000 ops. When I clicked on it, though, the game reset my processors and memory to 0, as you would expect, but it didn’t give me my 105 trust to reassign. And , you don’t earn more trust in that second phase. So, I was completely fucked.

I'm easily scared, and believe almost everything people tell me, so I got really nervous at points and wondering why I was doing this. Main reason was of course D giving me things to do, don't feel like much of the choices were my own in the end, and I actually felt lost at the end. It was all a nice distraction and adventure, but didn't solve anything. I really wanted to see D, wanted to know what she'd liked like etc. Everything that happened seemed to fit really well with the character descriptions you find at the fenced off place. Good stuff.
As for Brian, it annoyed me they didn't model his head. I can see people not liking that bit of story, but I didn't mind. It seemed to be the only thing D cared about, so that probably explains her change in attitude towards me (she doesn't even really care about her partner, seeing she likes to go out with other men too).
And to explain how paranoid I can get, when I carefully stepped over Brian, I had to ask B if there were gonna be zombies. Something in my head decided this would be a path the game could take at that point.
Had quite a few things where I had to ask B "I need to go here or here now, will the game scare me?", and actually quit playing when he was out for a smoke, as I wouldn't hear him coming back (playing with headphones) and I was sure that'd scare me.
