Played a few hours already - really enjoying it so far - they've managed to make it feel like one of the old games with some modern comforts that don't make it feel too archaic.
If I have one complaint, I'm not in love with the art style - it just seems a bit disjointed to me and not as polished as the old Lucas games. Other than that - really like it and would definitely recommend it if you're a fan of Lucas adventures.
Did many of us play this all the way through? I'm nearing in the end and for the first time I've become properly stuck. Trying to resist looking it up as I've come so far...
Managed to finish this in the end without using a guide. Really enjoyed it but fuck me if it wasn't frustrating towards the end. I guess that's exactly the sort of old school vibe they were going for but some of it was simply too much.
By the end you have five characters all with different goals. The frustration is that some of those goals can't be completed until you've done someone else's first. Meaning it's quite possible to waste away a few hours on a particular puzzle without realising it can't actually be completed yet.
Man this does get complex. Had to use a guide which told me I couldn't do what I was trying to do yet, which is annoying as it was one of the 'goals' in the notebook the characters have.
Think I'm on chapter 6
I'm falling apart to songs about hips and hearts...
The latest update has added a hint line that you can phone from within the game, which seems like a nice way to implement a hint system in keeping with the rest of the game.
TBH I kind of drifted away from this on Mac when I realised that I'd collected too much dust with Ray and Reyes and so wouldn't be able to collect enough with the other characters. I think I prefer this type of game on a touchscreen these days so may just start again from scratch on iOS.
the two detectives return to town after 'solving' the murder and locking up the homeless guy.
I do feel that it's a bit too fragmented and bitty for its own good - I know that theyre going for a Maniac Mansion vibe, but they streamlined the whole 'multi character' stuff for a reason and there was a cohesion with the Lucas games that I feel like is missing here.
