Done. 27.5 hours on the clock, but it would be quite a lot more in real time once you factor in deaths and restarts. Plus most of the later part of the game was following a guide - probably never would've finished otherwise.

Overall it's nearly a great game, but in the end it's heart is just too much in the 8 bit days, and the problem is hardly anyone used to finish those 8 bit games. If the sequel makes a few more concessions to modern gaming, and handheld gaming come to that, it could be special.

I think I used the pistol to finish that one off. 

That seems to be its purpose anyway, as a kind of last resort weapon if you're having trouble. It's very powerful but costs a lot of money to get more ammo.
