Oh, what have I done? Dropped a heap of notes on a fucking pig ugly game. Yes, it plays an... interesting game of golf, but I'd be mortified to let anyone see it. It's actually unforgivable that they've managed to code something that looks pig ugly, but still has textures and environment popping into existence so close to the camera.
Regarding putting, is there any way to gauge the power other than the feel? My normal swing is very reliable, but putting is all over the shop.
The graphics mean shite all in the long term, its a golf game that plays brilliantly and there's some lovely user created courses out there.
RE: Putting - Use the yellow bar thing to aim your putts. Move it to where you think you need to hit the putt, and aim for that. The bar gives you a leeway of 1/2 feet either way of your distance, whereas just doing it purely on feel gives your zero leeway.
There's good old math(s) to work out distances/angles/clubs/loft etc if you want me to bore you feckless with it.
The hole is 164 yards away, the green is 27 feet above where you're hitting from, and you have an 11mph headwind. How hard do you need to hit the shot to reach the hole?
I'm a poor winner btw. Right, time for my day's rounds. If you get a chance try Oktoberfest. Any of the four days are good. Hard, tricky fairways with some tough greens.
