This is absolutely not the fault of the BBC.ÂFrosty wrote:The BBC coverage of it seems really bad. Needs more time checks and graphics telling you what the hell is going on.
It's all about aerodynamics and pace. The rider at the front cutting through the air uses much more energy so the team will take turns doing that. Groups breaking away and going in front are the splinter, they can win if there's enough of them to take turns doing the work, but getting the pace right is very difficult. Loads of times on the Tour you'll see a splinter group lead for most of the day only for the main group to come up behind them like a machine towards the end and overtake.Paul the sparky wrote:Currently watching the Men's Road Race but unfortunately I know fuck all about the sport so don't really know what's going on. Can someone shed any light on how the team dynamic works in this please? How exactly do they help each other? Same for the Tour really, I don't get it.

All captions are provided by them and we can only put captions up as and when they offer them. Suffice to say they're fucking hopeless at their job and our director spent the whole of our first two matches at SJP badgering them to get their shit together. so there you go g.manFrosty wrote:The BBC coverage of it seems really bad.
