Just discovered I've won a teaching award from the Medical School - which is a very pleasant surprise. I do a teaching clinic on a Tuesday morning, and a tutorial every other week, but that's it, so was fairly thrown to find myself nominated. Even more so to win it.
I suspect the main reason I won is purely that I really like it - the students are almost universally a lovely lot, which makes me feel a hell of a lot more positive about the future of the profession than I otherwise would.
New lad working the tills at the scotmid right next to the flat. Went in to put money on the gas card and when he served me, he mistakenly hit cash instead of card at the end, even though I told him card in plenty time. With a queue and his colleague also serving, she just said to him "ahh just start it again, we'll sort it later" so yeah I paid twenty on my debit card then when I put the gas card in the meter it said it had £40 on it. Result.
