It would have been more if I had got out and picked it earlier before it started to over ripen and drop off. Also, wasn't helped by a branch with most of the fruit on falling off a month or so back. The crop varies from year to year and I'm still annoyed by the time I got 12 kg of fruit but the freezer I put it in got accidentally switched off.
Anyway just five jars of jam made, one of which I added crushed dried chillies to. The cherry plums are close in taste to damsons and although the plain jam is really good I now think I should have made the whole batch with the chillies. You still get the full taste of the fruit followed by the chilli heat. Only another year to wait to do it again.
