Admirably attempt @Bollockoff to plumb the PC's 2013 flagship strategy release but, as your post hints at, Creative Assembly are flogging a dead horse here.
I passed on Shogun II, cos Empire was such a bloated mess. I luv Romans as much as the next man, but I fully expect this next installment to be as underwhelming as the last TW.

Sympathies if Empire put you off. Especially at release. Shogun 2 was a quality game however and Fall of the Samurai which i'm going through at the mo is probably the finest thing they've yet done. Plenty of new gameplay additions to the Rome campaign map as well to make things smoother. Armies muster troops themselves for a start, so no more marching individual units from each city. You also have naval landing battles now which are going to make for some amazing city sieges no doubt.
System specs are pretty much the same as Shogun 2. -
Total Warhammer would be best.
Still intend on playing one of these eventually. -
That's exactly what they're doing actually as their next project. GW already announced they gave them the license.

Dug out my disc of the original inspired by the new release, actually runs fine on my crappy Dell, which it never did on my crappy no-name XP machine. Cracking fun and hellish addictive, but it's squashed any fanciful ideas of buying a new PC. I'm a bit rubbish at it and PC gaming isn't that comfortable.

It came. Was seen. It didn't fucking conquer.
Depressing purchase. Runs terribly to the level of not worth playing on my rig and it has bugs anyway as it requires a massive patch. TW community is recoiling in horror from some of the gameplay changes and battles are way way too quick now. -

Spartan: Total Warrior was a surprisingly fun action game on the PS2. Viking wasn't as good but was alright.
Give Shogun 2 a go Blocks. I'm back to it with a mate last few nights and it's still amazing. -
Where do you stand on Ryse Bollocky? I find myself coming round to it, the video with the Testudo is the major culprit. -
Xbox Wun so it's not on my radar. I've read it's set in an alternative timeline anywho which puts me off. Authenticity whore you see.

Alternate whut? Didn't know about that nonsense, I just clocked the authenticity in the shield wall, throwing spears before closing the ground etc.
