I miss The Settlers.

Didn't like iOS version as it seemed to have a ridiculous difficulty spike.

I played the beta a week or so ago and it seemed quite decent. Â Anyone else picking it up as it sounds like it has some interesting social/multiplayer features.

I like the way Anno lets you build trade routes that take units hither and for. It's brilliant. When you've got a few Occident Islands and some Northern Isles and a flotilla of ships ferrying goods around and to your main capital, it's clockwork BEAUTY.

Stronghold was a good game of this type too, it was a little like Settlers but a bit quicker, and you could pour pitch on peoples heads. There was a full economic campaign too, that involved lots of bread baking. Baking bread in these games is ace. Lots of bread. Yum.

As mentioned, I've ordered Anno 1404 and the laptop I'm getting has dropped to Â£680 from Â£740 (I think?) so that covers the funds for SimCity.

I will get this as i'm on the hunt for a new laptop and I will have some time on my hands in moscow. I love simcity and this looks banging.

It even has that mega crane thing!!! We were all talking about that machine in another thread (kick starter iirc).

I have it installed but you can tell it not to run on start up. It just fires up when I click the game shortcut. I don't mind it actually, it's a lot more attractive than Steam and doesn't by default bombard you with ads after playing a game.

Has anyone played the Tropico games, specifically 4. I hear the odd positive word but it's always looked a bit cheapy.

Bought Tropico 4 from Gamefly. So I needed a Gamefly account. Then a Kalypso account. Now it's downloaded a patch. Twice.

And now it's telling me to install the game I've already installed.

I hate PC gaming sometimes. Steam makes things so easy. This is a fucking ballache.

My Anno is here, unfortunately my laptop isn't. I've not been paid from my customer yet and because my missus still hasn't started work I am so skint. Hopefully in between signing treaties I'll be able to get back some of the work I have been turning away over the last couple of years...

whats this origin thing? I gather its like steam from what i'm reading.. is it the only way to buy simcity? Also anyone know what spec comp you need to run it?

Origin is simply ea's attempt at steam. Its not to bad but seems pointless to me. If you can run the game then you can run origin (or are you asking for specs for SC5?)
