Will 2023 be the best year in gaming evar?

Think about it.
Starfield, Stalker 2, Diablo 4 and a tonne of other stuff that should have been released this year (but weren't due to a pesky global pandemic, a real-life genocidal madman, and workforce unrest respectively) suddenly collide in a delayed supernova of launches in 2023.
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, quite a lot actually. The Starfield rumourmill is in overdrive at the moment, with stories of further troubled development swirling around. Stalker 2 may have evacuated it's development team to Prague, but it can't be easy knowing that some of your colleagues are fighting a real war hundreds of miles away. And the storm around Blizzard still rages with microtransactions and boardroom bullshittery.
Are we still on course to see the best year in gaming ever next year or is it all going to go down the pan?

There’s not currently a ton of stuff I’m particularly excited for next year, so probably not for me at least. -
Looking at the trailers from last night I was thinking its shaping up pretty well.
Best year, nah, there are a couple of insane years in the past. 1998 and 2007 were just nuts. -

When it came to thinking about my game of the year for 2022 I realised how much retro stuff I'm playing and how little modern gaming suits me. So I doubt much is going to change next year for me. 360 era was still the best.SFV - reddave360

But it does get better because we are getting access to some older games legally and also with QoL features. Atari 50 is one such example. Tempest 2000 on Switch. Thank you.Holding the wrong end of the stick since 2009. -

It’s very similar but it isn’t an exact copy.

Not better than Space Giraffe in my view. I really like SG. TxK and T4k are more straight forward shooters though - I mean you can see what is going on!
PC SG has a wuss mode that removes some of the background stuff. Never even tried it.
